Built for a real White Mountains winter
Show Low sits at roughly 6,400 feet on the Mogollon Rim, in IECC Climate Zone 5B — a genuine four-season climate with real heating loads, not the desert heat most "Arizona insulation" advice is written for. It's also a drier cold climate than Flagstaff's heavy-snow country to our northwest — around 19 inches of snow a year here, versus well over 90 up there. That means our approach is tuned to genuine heat-loss and air-infiltration problems at elevation, not a heavy-snow, ice-dam-first playbook borrowed from a different climate.
Utilities here run on Navopache Electric Cooperative and UniSource Energy Services, not APS — and heating a home efficiently at 6,400 feet on either grid starts with the same thing: a sealed, correctly insulated envelope. Spray foam is the one material that insulates and air-seals in a single pass, which is exactly why it's the only one we install.
That focus is the whole business. A crew that also hangs batts and blows in cellulose is, by definition, spreading its expertise across three trades.
